FAQs
Scanning
Can you scan all film sizes?
We use an Epson V850 film scanner for this type of work. These units come with a variety of carriers so we are able to scan 110 instamatic film up to sheet 10 x 8 both both negative and transparency
What is the difference between your 35mm slide scan and the cheaper slide to digital service?
We use an Epson V850 for all our film scans. This high end scanner gives great results from both negatives and transparencies. The scans are then colour and density corrected and are of a high resolution. The slide to digital service is limited to 35mm slides in cardboard/plastic mounts, and are lower resolution. The difference between the services can be seen on our scanning page
We would like a slideshow created from our scans can this be done?
We would first produce jpg files from your originals. These will be either placed onto CD or USB Stick for you to archive. Then we will set about producing a sideshow. We would need to know the required background music any titles and of course what order they need to be in. The result can be either created onto a DVD or MP4 file.
Can you scan my documents too?
If you require document scanning we can do this. If you need some files printed we can produce either inkjets and toner copies. We can even laminate them for you. Just let us know what you require.
What is the resolution of your scans?
This does depend on what they’re going to be used for, but as a general guide
110 - 126 -35mm film 3200dpi
120 film 2400dpi
5 x 4 sheet 1200dpi
print scan 300 - 1200dpi
Should you require a different resolution or file type let us know
I have prints in a photo album that are stuck to the pages. Can these be scanned?
We are usually able to scan prints that are stuck in albums as our scanner have flexible hinges.
