FAQs
video
Will I get charged the full amount even though there is a only a few minutes on my tape?
The stated prices are the maximum you will be charged. If your tape contains a Sky Dive that only last 10 minutes we will take that into consideration when it comes to the final cost.
Can you place more than one video onto my disc?
The only limitation we have is the duration of the disc. The maximum amount of video we can place onto DVD is two hours. So in theory we can place four 30 minute videos onto a single disc. In this case you will be greeted with a menu showing a thumbnail of each tape. If you have a single video on a disc it will automatically play once inserted into your device.
I have a tape that has a couple of hours of family video, but I only require the 10 min wedding. Is this possible?
We are always happy to copy sections of your tape. All we require is clear instructions. An extra charge may apply, but we will always discuss this with you before the work commences.
What discs do you use?
We mainly use TDK, Maxell or Traxdata discs. These have white printable surfaces so information or logos can be printed on them if required
Can you convert my video to a digital file?
This is one of the most common questions we are being asked. Converting your tapes to either MP4 or the much larger file sized uncompressed AVI allows to you watch them on a computer or smart tv* Importing them into a video editing software enables you to cut out unwanted sections.
*Please check your tv documentation to make sure this option is available
I would like my vhs tape converted but I’ve just discovered it’s broken and rattles when shaken. Is this still possible?
We have a supply of new VHS shells which we can use. We’re able to splice together tapes that have snapped due to faulty machines. Shell replacement are charged at £10 each
We placed some video on YouTube a while back. We’ve now discovered that we longer have a copy. Can you place this onto disc?
Yes, as long as you’re the owner of the clip. We can create a MP4 file or DVD from the video. Please remember the quality will only be as good as the original clip.
